No vision is complete without examining the past. For over 100 years, Judson Baptist has lived the calling God has given this church in South Nashville. We were named in honor of a man who dedicated his life to see the lost saved. Adoniram Judson left everything in 1812 to pioneer a mission effort in Burma. We still see traces of his influences in our legacy today.
Adoniram believed the Gospel needed to be in people's heart language so he translated the Bible into Burmese. This year, we completed our 6th audio recording of the Bible for an unreached people group with Faith Comes By Hearing. Adoniram believed churches should be planted. In 2017, we planted another church in Williamson County. Our past informs our future.
In November 2016, I began leading our staff through a visioning process to determine our next steps. This vision has been presented to a group of lay leaders from every ministry of our church. They have been a sounding board for us as we have sought God's direction. This vision recognizes the rich history of Judson Baptist and guides us to what we believe God has in store for us now and in the coming years.
